Upgraded Physics Lab

Diman Bengal Educational Foundation board members and Diman school officials gathered at the school on November 12, 2015 to announce the Foundation has contributed $53,500 towards the Physics Classroom/Lab Renovation Project. The Foundation’s contribution reflects funding from Bank Five, Bay Coast Bank, Rodgers Family Foundation, Fall River Rotary Club, 1972 Diman graduate Frank Santos and funds from the Foundation’s general fund.

Started in July of 2013, the Foundation has provided funding for three other projects at the school. These include a Customer Service Center in the Automotive Technology Shop, a storage building addition for the Physical Education Department and the site saw for the Carpentry Shop’s house building program.

The total cost of the Physics Project has been projected at $105,000. The balance of the remaining project expenses will be supported by school funds. This new schience learning space is projected to be completed by September 2016.

The mission ofthe Foundation is to identify private funds that will support innovative learning opportunities and upgrades to facilities at Diman. During the three years of existence, funds have been generated from events, local banks, community foundations, alumni donations, private companies, board members and local citizens. The four Foundation supported projects have totaled $86,700 in funding to the school.
